The American Legion Auxiliary Randolph Furey Unit 170 History:
The American Legion Auxiliary is the world’s largest women’s patriotic organization established in 1919. The American Legion Auxiliary Ralph Wade Unit 170 was initially chartered on January 20, 1955 and re-chartered on March 16, 1962 under the name the Randolph Furey Unit 170. The first Auxiliary Unit President was Mrs. Dorothy Brown. The current President is Ms. Barbara Vaughan.

The Auxiliary Randolph Furey Unit 170 administers volunteer programs, gives thousands of hours to its communities and to veterans, and raises money to support its own programs, as well as other worthwhile charities familiar to Americans. It is all accomplished with volunteers. The Auxiliary has achieved its own unique identity while working side-by-side with the veterans who belong to The American Legion.
